What is being launched?

On August 15th, 2022, Convex is delivering custom fields as an additive feature to our Early Access release of Accounts and Opportunities. This provides organizations with the ability to define and populate any data they want for an account or opportunity.

How does this feature support the Commercial Services Platform for Revenue Acceleration?
The custom fields feature helps teams apply property intelligence to successfully track, organize, and manage their prospecting activities.

Who has access to these features in Atlas?

Only customers that have Account and Opportunity Management enabled will see this additional feature. Please reach out to your CSM if you have any questions with regards to enabling this for your organization.

Who can create custom fields for an organization?

Any user or manager role can create, edit, or remove a custom field for accounts or opportunities. This feature behaves exactly the same as the current custom fields available for properties.

Where does a user manage their custom fields?

The settings menu, located by clicking on the user avatar, has a section for custom fields. With this feature enabled, the user can create, edit, or remove custom fields for properties, accounts, or opportunities.

Can a user copy custom fields from one object type to another?

No, custom fields must be defined separately for each object type (property, account, or opportunity). Each of those object types support the same capabilities and field choices.

What are the types of data available in custom fields?

Users can create fields for text, dropdown, date, number, currently, percentage or checkbox types. Some of those types require further definition. As an example, the dropdown field requires choices that can be selected.

Where do custom fields show up for accounts and opportunities?

The account or opportunity details view will include any custom fields that have been defined for the organization. Please note, nothing will show if no fields have been defined.

How does a user edit the data in a custom field?

In the account or opportunity details view, clicking the custom field will put it into “edit” mode and the user can add values or make selections as appropriate.

Are custom fields required if they are created by an organization?

Custom fields are optional and not required to be populated for an account or opportunity.

Who can create, edit, or remove a custom field for an organization?

At this point in time, there are no user restrictions for creating, editing, or removing a custom field in the settings menu.

Will custom fields update to my CRM?

At this point in time, there are no CRM integrations for account and opportunity data, so any updates to custom field data will be only in Atlas.

Can a user search or filter based on account and opportunity custom fields?

At this time, custom fields for accounts and opportunities is not available as part of the search and filter options in Atlas.
