What is being launched?
On November 9th, 2022, Convex is delivering file attachment as an additive feature to our Early Access release of Accounts and Opportunities. This allows users the ability to add files or documents to an account or opportunity, providing a way to capture unique data that is directly applicable to current or existing deals.
How does this product support the Commercial Services Platform for Revenue Acceleration?
File attachment helps Atlas users intelligently pursue targets by keeping a reliable system of record on prospects. Additionally, Atlas users can better manage activities by staying organized on opportunities.
Who has access to this feature in Atlas?
Only customers that have Account and Opportunity Management enabled will see this additional feature. Please reach out to your CSM if you have any questions with regard to enabling this for your organization.
What types of files can be attached?
There is no restriction on the type of file that you can connect to an account or opportunity. However, only specific files like .pdf or image files will be available for preview (all other file types would require a download to view the file).
What information about a file is stored in Atlas?
Atlas will store the file along with the name and date of upload. The name can be changed at any time by the user. All files attached to an account or opportunity will be visible in the respective details view under the “Files” section.
What can a user do with a file once it has been uploaded?
Users can remove a file, download a file, rename a file, or see a preview of the file. For preview, only certain file types are available (such as .pdf or image files). The ability to attach a file to an opportunity or account allows users to keep valuable information like proposals, site survey photos, or other important files attached to their account or opportunity. This provides more organization at the account level.
Are there any restrictions for file attachment?
There is no restriction to the number of files per account or opportunity, nor is there a restriction to the overall number of files an organization can attach. Individual files can be up to 100MB in size.
Can a user attach more than one file at a time?
Yes, a user can select multiple files to upload, with the maximum being 10 total files per upload request.
How does a user select files to attach?
When selecting the “+” icon in the files section, the user is presented with a file selection window where they may select one or more files from their device to upload. In addition, a user can drag-drop files from their system into the file attach window.
Can the same file be uploaded to multiple accounts or opportunities?
Yes, a user can upload the same file to multiple accounts or opportunities. The same file can only be uploaded once to an account or opportunity to avoid duplication.
Are files that are uploaded secure?
Yes, Atlas uses industry standard best practices and encryption in alignment with SOC 2 compliance methods to store files that have been uploaded.
