What is being launched?
On November 9th, 2022, Convex is launching an export function as an additive feature to our Early Access release of Accounts and Opportunities. This provides users with the ability to export all data from their accounts or opportunities to gain further insights and understanding of their sales pipeline.
How does this product support the Commercial Services Platform for Revenue Acceleration?
CSV export helps organizations optimize and manage their activities by giving users complete control of their pipeline data when exporting accounts and opportunities data into a CSV file.
Who has access to these features in Atlas?
Only customers that have Account and Opportunity Management enabled will see this additional feature. Please reach out to your CSM if you have any questions with regards to enabling this for your organization.
What is exported from the account table? opportunity table?
All columns that are part of the view for accounts and opportunities are included in the export. At this time, the export function will be done for ALL accounts and opportunities. The following is a list of those columns:
Accounts:
- Account name
- Account owner
- City
- Designated contact
- Associated opportunities
- Associated properties
- Account creation date
- Last Activity
- Custom fields (if the organization has created custom fields)
Opportunities:
- Opportunity name
- Account name
- Opportunity stage
- Associated properties
- Value
- Target close date
- Opportunity creation date
- Last activity
- Custom fields (if the organization has created custom fields)
Instead of exporting ALL accounts or opportunities, can a user export just those where they are the owner?
At this time, we are only allowing export for ALL accounts or opportunities. The Account or Opportunity owner is part of the export, which can be used to easily filter the data.
Can a user select columns to leave out of the export?
The export will contain all data values for the accounts or opportunities at the organization level. CSV file users need to remove unwanted data fields. In a later release, we will provide the option to make selections, including which columns are part of the export.
What type of file will the user get after requesting an export?
The user will get a CSV (comma-separated values) file, which is a text file where all the data is separated by commas. A CSV file is most commonly viewed in a spreadsheet application (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets).
Is there a limit to the number of times a user can request an export?
No, there are no current limits we impose. However, our operations team monitors traffic and would likely shut down requests that look malicious in any way (e.g. - hundreds of consecutive requests in a short time period). Normal user behavior where a request is made multiple times a day or week is not an issue.
Can I request this file in a different format?
You are free to transform the file to another file format/type as you see fit.
